Lighthouses and Landmarks You'll See

Every lighthouse tour is flexible and built around what your group wants to see. Our captains know Casco Bay inside and out and will tailor your route to include the landmarks that matter most to you.

Portland Head Light

Maine’s oldest lighthouse and the most photographed lighthouse in America. Built in 1791 and perched on the rocky shores of Cape Elizabeth, Portland Head Light is a must see on any Casco Bay tour.

Bug Light

The smallest lighthouse in Maine, sitting at the entrance to Portland Harbor. Officially known as Portland Breakwater Light, Bug Light is charming, historic, and impossible to miss.

Fort Gorges and Fort Scammel

Two of Portland Harbor’s most impressive Civil War era fortifications, both built on ledges in the middle of the harbor. Fort Gorges sits on Hog Island Ledge while Fort Scammel occupies House Island nearby. Dramatic, historic, and virtually impossible to see without getting out on the water.

Spring Point Ledge Light

A unique sparkplug style lighthouse sitting at the end of a granite breakwater in South Portland.

Striking from the water and a favorite among photographers.

Ram Island Ledge Light

A rugged granite tower sitting on a bare ledge in the outer harbor.

Dramatic, remote, and one of the most impressive lighthouses in the region when seen from the water.

Cape Elizabeth Light

Known as Two Lights for its twin towers, Cape Elizabeth Light sits on the rocky shores just south of Portland and is one of the most photographed spots on the

New England coast.
